Retrace is a luxurious housing community that fosters a genuinely sustainable lifestyle for its residents.

Located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, India, it’s developed by Pragati Group, a prominent name in Indian real estate, in collaboration with 2+ Design Collective.

Rooted in research and established fact, the content avoids clichés around conscious living, focusing instead on clarity and credibility.

We aimed to create a coffee table book that gives potential homeowners a clear, engaging overview of the project.

Visually, the design reflects Retrace’s core values, being sophisticated, grounded, and purposeful.

We used clean, modern fonts and a colour palette of greens tinged with futurism — a nod to progress that felt organic. Given the research-heavy content, data visualisation played a key role.

Our goal was to present the carefully organised information clearly and impactfully. These were paired with detailed cross-hatch illustrations, adding depth and texture to reflect the layered subject of carbon. We enhanced these illustrations further with tactile textures during production.

Sustainability extended beyond the content — we used 100% recycled paper and eco-friendly inks throughout.

The book along with supplemental pamphlets were packaged in a custom birch ply box, crafted to mirror the aesthetics of the homes. With curved edges, exposed grain, hidden hinges, and an overall minimal look, the box was designed to be both refined and understated.

This coffee table book was the result of a collaboration between designers, writers, renderers, printers, the client, and architects — ensuring the final product reflected Retrace’s vision for the future of living in India.
